What We Believe

The following are the core beliefs of Sienna Community Church based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

God is eternal, all-powerful, all-knowing, ever-present, ever-working, holy, just, gracious, merciful, and loving. We believe that one true God has made Himself known in three distinct persons as God the Father,
God the Son–Jesus Christ, and God the Holy Spirit.

God has revealed Himself through His only Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus comes to earth to show us God; to show us how man is to live in relation to God (Jesus being the standard by which we live); and to bridge the insurmountable gap that exists between the Holy God and sinful man. (Jesus the Savior)

All of mankind, except for Jesus, is sinful and in need of a Savior. Jesus died on the cross in our place, for our sins, to bring us to God. Mankind is saved by the grace of God, not the works of man, by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the only way to God.

The Holy Spirit resides in the life of every believer to work in our lives, bringing about the character of Christ in us; through our lives, carrying out the work of God; and as the promise and guarantee of salvation.

The Bible is the absolute, authoritative, timeless, and timely Word of God. The Bible is true and is the standard by which we live.

Jesus Christ is the head of the church who draws His people together into bodies of believers to carry out his purposes. Every member of Sienna Community Church is a minister and is gifted by God for a unique and specific ministry that is essential to the health and growth of the entire body. We are to use our God-given gifts and abilities to glorify God and to build up one another.

We are to glorify God everywhere. Just as there is a geographical mission field, there is a cultural mission field. We are Christ’s ambassadors to every person in every place and in every sphere of life.

Jesus Christ is certainly and unexpectedly coming back, and all of mankind will be judged based on their individual relationship with Jesus. We are to live in readiness of His return. The lost are condemned for eternity in hell. The saved are destined for the glory of heaven.
